    @TillyWolves If you’re speaking of mania, in the general case mania (or hypomania) does not generally make someone more productive in a good sense. That’s true in some cases, but I know those who accomplish nothing when they are manic, they can’t keep their mind still long enough to accomplish anything. But perhaps that’s just my interpretation of my illness.

  2. GoblinInventor says:

    @TillyWolves Actually that’s generally not true. Mania is NOT fun. At the very least mania is not retrospectively fun. I perfectly understand people thinking as you write above, and even some bipolars seeing their illness as such, so I don’t find your comment offensive or anything, just… not generally correct.

  3. TillyWolves says:

    @TheKeri64

    it also gives you the drive to accomplish things as well….

  4. QueerSwede1 says:

    Stephen is amazing and yes, a lot of us care for him all over the world.

  5. karvainenpiippu says:

    Jeeves would not approve that tie.

  6. AliciaDort says:

    What the fuck, people? Touching the face isn’t a 100% indicator someone is ‘lying’, bit hard to lie about having bipolar when you’ve made whole documentaries about your experiences, nutcase. People touch their face when they’re shy, some people (like myself) just do it out of habit or nervousness. Sheesh.

  7. TheKeri64 says:

    Bipolar has …and is… ruining my life!!!! Its a curse

  8. MsTraceymitchell says:

    @mozzaragan
    i have bipolar and i most certainly do believe he has it, as do the various mental health specialists that hes seen so im not exactly sure who you think is “wide” to him nor why you think he is lying

  9. MsTraceymitchell says:

    touching the face is commonly believed to show discomfort…the fact is that people under interrogation who have to lie also tend to feel uncomfortable about it and this is why it is often linked to lying…it is not though actually in itself proof, as there are many reasons why a person might lie. when a person is read a lot of factors are taken into account where the touch is occurring when, how, in what manner, in what combination,context, body posture is also important
    and a lot more

  12. myangelmichael1 says:

    @ForwardN2Unknown aww bless

  13. ForwardN2Unknown says:

    @myangelmichael1 I care. I don’t know you, but I care.

  14. unintentionalapology says:

    i love stephen fry. i bought the harry potter audio books just because he narrates them :)

  15. BelfastAtheist says:

    @nickwade1
    You’re a fucking idiot.

  16. GDATERRY says:

    @nickwade1 Are you really so moronic to believe that touching your face is a fullproof way of telling someone is lying?

  17. yerk3 says:

    @nickwade1 Or maybe he had an itch.

  18. logixish says:
  19. pixiejojo says:

    @nickwade1 Or a fly might have been bothering him, or a cold sore , or an itch, or he might have been helping someone win who wants to be a millionaire, or he might be a spy, or Darren brown might have hypnotised him. There are just to many reasons for a person to touch their nose or face to say with 100% conviction that they’re lying.

  20. myangelmichael1 says:

    i tried it twice too:( still nobody gives a shit!!!

  21. pixiejojo says:

    @nickwade1 Or maybe he just does coke?

  22. anikinippon says:

    @nickwade1 Could be a sign of nervousness, body language is not a sure sign of anything, he could be attempting to cover up his vulnerability which would be appropriate.

  23. nickwade1 says:

    LIAR
    LIAR

    keep touching that nose every time you answer, OH dear

  24. nickwade1 says:

    Yep Watched again,

    Clearly lots of lies.

    again, Pity because Fry clearly has a lot to offer. Maybe he thought that by pretending to sick he could help others.? Even if that was his intention I doubt it helps.
    Honesty is worth more I feel.

  25. nickwade1 says:

    Usually when someone continually touches their nose and mouth whilst answering questions they are held to be a liar.

    This guy is SOOOOO loved that I doubt you will care that he lies with such abandon. (ie. the face touching is apparent after every q!)
    PIty!
