Alcohol is a depressant. hence, that’s why you pass out when you have had all that the body can process in a certain amount of time.

If you’re feeling pleased then you’ll be incredibly happy.
If you’re a bit upset, you’ll be crying by the end of the night.

A bottle of wine in one go is too much. Alcohol (especially in large amounts) is a depressant. If you drink sensibly – you will not feel depressed after consuming sensible amounts of alcohol.

This only happens to people with severe depression and other mental disease. I have only a light let down after drinking that lasts a few hours, due to alcohols depressant effects. If severe mood swings happens to you do not drink and seek professional help. Good luck to you.

It does not give depression unless you are predisposed to it ( unless you are an alcoholic) .If you are depressed it only masks that for a short time until the euphoria of drinking wears off. So if you feel like that you should stop drinking and seek medical advice for your depression.

Gee UUUmmm – because it effects your brain, silly. It is a DRUG. Which is why you have to be a certain age to drink it.
Also, alcohol effects some people differently.
It is dependent on a lot of factors – size (like how tall a person is or how much they weigh). Also, I have seen alcohol effect people differently no matter what their size.
For instance a short person may be able to drink a lot with little or no side effects, and a tall / big person could have one drink and it knocks them under the table.
It just depends.

It doesn’t always give you a high follwoed by a low. The effect will vary according the circumstances and the underlying personality of the drunk person.
Clinically alchol affects you by suppressing your inhibitions. This means that the verneer of civilisation which moderates behaviour is taken away. It isn’t always bad.
If you’re feeling happy then any constraints that are in your mind to keep you “restrained” will be removed and you’ll behave “over the top”.
Gloomy people will have an initial ‘kick’ and then the cover is removed and they show all their misery.
Worse – people with inherent violent tendencies will actually bcome agressive.
In your case you should examine whether you are basically unhappy and ask why. Why, for example, are you drinking a bottle of wine? If it’s not with a meal or if you’re a solo drinker then you should be concerned.
