Bipolar, especially when there are psychotic features qualifies you as disabled. Just fill out the forms they give you, and when they reject you, keep trying and trying and you will get it.

yea most likely u will get something. but just because u have just say 6 things wrong, it doesn't mean that you'll get more money for those. u only get around 749 or so til every year they raise it like 10 dollars . does that make any since? u don't get more money for more disability.

Yes. Start your application now, it takes several months to receive anything. Your entitlement will depend on whether or not you live with your parents, pay rent, work, etc. First, apply for SS. Depending on your work history, you could qualify. Then apply for SSi. The web site ro apply directly online is: https://secure.ssa.gov/apps6z/i3369/ee00… It takes a long while but you can stop and go back to it. Get all your info together from the hospitalizations, to all the doctor's who you've seen, emergency room visits, therapist, etc. Also, your work history, dates, etc. They will contact everyone you put down. Just make sure you are currently seeing your Psychiatrist. Don't worry about your work history, since you are disabled you are getting $ to help you. You can eventually go back to work and still collect-just find out how much you can work before it interferes with your SSI. Also apply for Medicaid if you don't have it. Once you get SSI, you can apply for other benefits like food stamps. You won't have any problems getting it, it just takes a long time. Good Luck.
