I know that Patty Duke suffers from Manic Depression and a women that passed away (she played Lois Lane in the Superman movie) Margot Kidder. I know about this disease, my daughter suffers from it and a few of my friends. The key to successful treatment is to do it early in life. It is very treatable.

Allegedly: Joshua Logan. Abraham Lincoln. Pablo Picasso. And probably about half of all the famous people who ever lived. I think manic depression is a grabage can diagnosis and is carelessly thrown out when the doctor is too stupid to diagnose correctly.

Sylvia Plath: Her father was a member of SS during WWII. In her poem dedicated to "Daddy" she even speaks of the horror of using the skin of Jewish POWs to make lamp shades. She carried his shame with her all throughout her life. She committed suicide in London after writing the 'Bell Jar', a somewhat autobiographic fiction.

Van Gogh seems to me the number 1 of the list hehehe
It's known he cut his ear off and mailed it to a painter friend after he decided to leave the flat they both shared... the reason his friend decided to leave? Van Gogh started to paint on the flat walls in the middle of the night, crying out he was the Holly Ghost...
He spent many years of his life in a Mental Institution and had a good friendship with his doctor... he painted a portrait of him and told his doctor he was crazier than himself; such a sweet guy this Van Gogh hahaha... ^_^
