I understand your panic disorder. I haven’t been able to travel for years because of the horror of panic disorder. You are really bad and you need to get disability. You may have to get some help, since you are not hardly able to leave your home, because this might have to be taken before a Judge in a court of law. I know a lady that has been getting disability for panic disorders for years. She can go around town and just drive a little bit from home. She has been right around her home since 1980. Can’t take vacations. I am fortunate that I have been able to work, but I have had to take jobs below me because of my disability. I have a personality disorder and can’t hardly stand being with people along with panic attacks and constantly being smothered because I have a fear of the sky.. They bother me so bad that I stay to myself most of the time. So I have to work alone, and sometimes I can barely do that. So I do know what you feel and how restricted you are in what you can or can’t do. People who have never suffered with this phobia can not possibly have even an idea. I wish I was normal and could take a trip somewhere. Don’t give up on the disability that you so deserve.

Yes, you can get a disabilty check ever month for you conditions. My cousin was diagnosed with the similar problems as you and she gets a check every month. YOu would have to go to a group class of some sorts every week though.

When I had disability, I first filed on my own and was turned down also, the second time my doctor’s office did the paper work and I received it within a few months.
    Hope this helps.

I hear that you are automatically denied the first time you apply. Appeal it with the help of your doctors and maybe even a lawyer. When you win, they will have to pay you SSI all the way back to the date you originally applied.

umm, i don’t see why not. maybe you should talk to your doctor and see a psychiatrist which im sure he’s the one that made the diagnosis but talk to him they have plenty of drugs they can give you that might help

yes, you will have to go to s.s and fill out the paper work. you will need a valid id and social security card. where you live and all.

Yes it does qualify as a disability, though it is difficult to get disability income on it. Since it is not a physically limiting disability (like arthritis or being wheelchair bound) it is harder to “prove” that it is enough of a disability that you can not work since there are different degrees of the illness, and many people are able to work just fine with it. Its not like rheumatoid arthritis where an x ray can show the joint damage or anything like that. Could take applying multiple times. Also, would be worth looking into finding an advocate or lawyer that specializes in disability income cases.
You have to realize that there are many people that would immediately jump on trying to get disability after being diagnosed with something like bipolar, so that they dont have to work, even if they are completely able to work. And because the patient describing the symptoms is all anyone can go on, that does lead to them being very skeptical of things like mental illnesses which can not be physically proved.
