Sure, it's called "mania" as in maniac. And the longer the mania lasts, the deeper the fall is after, suggest you consult a psychiatrist.

The official diagnosis for Bipolar 1 disorder states that you ONLY have to show mania symptoms once in your life. You may or may not have depression.
Look up the DSMV-IV criteria on Bipolar disorder.
However, most Bipolar people experience depression after mania. The higher you are, the harder you fall.

Yes. Please go see a doctor. When a person is manic they can make really bad choices and later have to face the consequences. Which in turn can lead you into depression. Go speak with a doctor be as honest as possible (that way you can be treated appropriately). But don't wait. Whether it's you a friend or a loved one. It can get really bad not just for the person suffering from it but those who care about them too. Good Luck.

yes you can absolutely have mania without depression, though they most often do go together. there is mania which involves extreme highs followed by a period of normalcy, and hypomania which is a less drastic high. either way, there is treatment out there. find a good psychiatrist in your area and be sure to tell them ALL the symptoms you are having to be sure you aren't misdiagnosed
