I noticed for a bout a year or so now… I’ll be in a good stable mood for about 2 to 3 months, and then after that i lash out and have mood swings. Like I’d be happy one minute, sad the next, and very aggressive the next. It’s affecting my life so badly…, especially with my boyfriend of two years. He did something that really pissed me off a few days ago, ever since my moods have started up(before that like a week before they were flaring up)…(i found a pic of some girls *** in his email) though he claimed it was his friends doing, but thats beside the point. If anyone could help me I’d really appreciate it. I’d like to hear from some people who suffer from this disorder.

3 Responses to “How Can You Tell If Your Bipolar Or Have Manic Depression?”
  1. Neely O'Hara says:

The only way you can know is if a doctor diagnoses.

  2. fiVe says:

If you are bipolar you need to see a doctor for treatment. Conveniently, a psychiatrist is also the person who can diagnose you as bipolar. Summary: see a doctor.

  3. Anonymous says:

Unless the medical definitions have changed, bipolar disorder and manic depression are the same disorder, in which the individual experiences long bouts of depression and then long bouts of mania. Mania can be extremely severe but usually manifests itself in a huge flood of ideas, not needing very much sleep, going on huge shopping sprees, thinking you’re invincible and have power you don’t have…it feels good but isn’t necessarily good for you or everyone around you.
Mood swings really don’t point to bipolar disorder, but more to hormonal imbalance. You might want to talk to your gynecologist about this, especially if you’re on hormone birth control.
