What happens if we do go into a depression and then the dollar collapses completely?

We would be crying over that. Job losses would be more complete than right now. People would be out on the streets and hungry with no place to stay. It would be very difficult.
The government would probably respond as well as they are doing now. The people would do as well as they could, but it would be very difficult.
