I don’t know if it’s commonplace, to be quite honest, because i’m not a psychiatrist and don’t work in the mental health field; however, i do have bipolar disorder.
I can not take antidepressants because they heighten my mood, sometimes to the point of an agitated mania…
Currently i take seroquel at night before bed. Very occasionally i take a xanax for anxiety, but since i’ve been taking the seroquel my moods have been mainly on the normal side, i function well, and my anxiety has lowered considerably.
Everyone is very different when it comes to medications, so my experience is probably not typical of a lot of other people’s.

I didnt think there was any actual cure for this apart from careful monitering from your GP and trying different meds until you find the correct drug/dose to suit. I sympathise as my husband suffers this horrible illness. Try as much as you can to talk to family or friends when you are feeling very low or very manic – it can help and they will support you more if they understand.

yes I think so and I also feel that he has post traumatic stress sendrome because he is obviously stuck on something that happened in his childhood probably when he was a child. Maybe someone close to him died or something.
