Suffer depression and anorexia. Have trust issues and probably anxiety. I only have one friend and I couldn’t imagine dating anyone. That would be way too hard for me.

I think that the reasons that women have such a high rate of anxiety and depression have to do with both hormones and societies attitudes about women and men.
Hormones make me crazy, I won’t deny my menstrual cycle drives me nuts! Men don’t have to deal with that or pregnancy, which can increase the rate of mental illness almost by 25%.
Societies attitudes about women and men? Again huge role. Women have a lot of pressures on them especially when it comes to sexuality and motherhood. Just think about the double standards and our repressed sexuality. It’s enough to depress me if I didn’t know the right people.
Also, women are encouraged to talk about their feelings, where as men are encouraged to be macho or manly and ignore their depressions or anxieties. Women tend to take their emotions out on themselves in a self destructive and noticable manner. Men, on the other hand, are encouraged to bottle it up. Big boys don’t cry, that type of deal. Men are less likely to seek help. It’s just not ‘manly’ whatever manly is, I don’t believe in manly.
What do you think? Answer below!

I just turned 23 years old and have suffered from major depression for about 4-5 years. My father passed away at 16 years old and I have never really been the same. I have been diagnosed with manic depression, g.a.d, panic disorder and bi-polar type two. Most of the time I feel that I have a good head on my shoulders but do lack energy and concentration wich can really hinder ones ability to function correctly. I also have an extreme amount of anxiety. I run at least 8-10 miles a week and meditate (although maybe not enough) wich helps but doesnt suffice. I choose not to take ssri’s because they make me feel like im a robot that just drifts threw life feeling relatively the same way all the time. Again I am looking to find a natural remedy for lack of energy, concentration, and releif of anxiety. Please do not suggest any type of religion. Thank you..
Yes the depression started 2 years after my dad died. Also my anxiety isnt about stress it is the feeling that death is coming numerous times a day, and before you say we all die I know that it doesnt help.
im such an idiot ahah my father passed away when i was 16 years old.. wow did i screw that up,.

Okay, I am not sure how to describe this properly but here goes my best explanation. There are two issues I am having.
1) I have had this since I was young, I was sick with a high fever and developed this shortly after (around the age of 8). I have visions and see images when I lay down or when I close my eyes for too long. It feels as if I am dreaming while I am awake. To the point I will just want to go crazy.
2) (right now this is the main issue/concern) I had a dream about 2 weeks ago, it was very wierd, it was of a cloaked person figure, no face. It reminded me of the “grim reaper”. It followed me wherever I went in my dream and it stayed in a tree the whole time, it mainly stayed outside of my house and wouldn’t go away, now I have been very scared of everything, I feel as if something is out to get me. I am always tense where it feels like my muscles wont loosen up, kind of the feeling where you are very cold and shiver. Also, the worse part is the feeling of always being dizzy. If you bend over and your head is down and you raise up very quickly you get that sudden dizziness feeling, thats what I feel like 24/7, its horrible and i always feel like I am going to throw up, I have been using dramamine and meclizine prescription because my doctor said its vertigo but I don’t understand how it can be.
I have been on medication for 4 years now and I still have yet been able to find the right one to work. I have always had this problem but its getting worse and it’s really hard to cope with it now. The problem I was diagnosed with is bi-polar and anxiety. I was reading online and supposedly it could be manic depression??
I am currently on the following medication :
Trileptal(oxcarbazepine)
Fluvoxamine
Lamotrigidine(Lamictal)
Zolpidem(Ambien) I have Insomnia to the point I will just lay for hours and for some reason it is hard to fall asleep.
Any help would be great
