Question by Erin: How do you avoid depression when a military boyfriend is away?
I’m thankful that he is not deployed, I don’t know how I would handle that, but my boyfriend is in the Army and is across the country for several months. How can I avoid the depression while he is gone? Living in a seemingly empty apartment now, how can I fill the void that seems to suck the life right out of me? Any suggestions that avoid getting pets would be so helpful.

How strong can depression be? How harmful is it? For instance, does depression make your bf/gf want to break up with you over a stupid reason especially when they’re the one suffering depression? What makes them want to push you away and be alone? What makes them want to ignore you to consult their own feelings? Do they realize what they’re doing especially they’re the one in pain?

some family members may not understand how to deal w/ depression….i think listening and being of comfort is one of the greatest suggestions…and if a b/f or g/f can’t deal w/ it ..they were long looking for a way out..if they loved that person , why would you want to lose him or her.

It is like 2:25 AM on the East Coast and I am having troubles sleeping tonight because I have Bi Polar with depression and it is just tearing the life out of me. I have a life full of problems, I got diagnosed with bi polar disorder when I was 13 years old. Things started to get ugly in my high school years, I couldn’t find a girlfriend and people often make fun of me and call me names, Girls find that I’m not the type of guy they like because I am a computer nerd. Almost every girl I ask out rejected me back in high school, I’m 19 years old now and I still live with my parents and my little 12 year old sister to keep me company but it still isn’t helping. These people who were cruel to me earlier on one of my posts dissed me by saying Well at least I have someone in my life, not like you pathetic loser who has nobody, they told me to go to hell. I suffer from many disorders including Obessive Compulsive Disorder and ADHD. How can I make all of my problems go away ? Is there anything I could to make my depression go away so I could fall asleep ?? I want helpful answers and I’m not in the mood for joking. Can anyone please help me out ?
