Question by Yellowbug: How do I find a therapist who handles postpartum depression?
I posted this in the mental health category but didn’t get any answers. I am still struggling 5 months postpartum due to a high-needs baby. I feel like I need someone to talk to besides my husband (who is just as wiped out as me). I don’t know if I have ppd but am unhappy and discouraged. My insurance just provides a list of professionals but how do I find one that handles ppd? Btw, I live in southern california.

Try asking your son/daughter’s pediatrician or the doctor who delivered you. They will more than likely have a list and you can call the doctors on that list and see if they take your insurance.

Hang in there! :)

You need to tell your Doctor, they are the ones that can get you on the right medicine.
You have a chemical imbalance that can be corrected with the right medication. Once you feel better, you will not worry about being judged.

Question by sexyboy: Depression and anxiety sufferers : How difficult do you find it to meet new people and date ?
I’ve been suffering from anxiety disorder and depression 2 years now and in those 2 years my social skills have dropped tragically and i have zero confidence when it comes to asking a lady out on a date or anything like that.
Im seeing a therapist a couple of times a week and im improving little by little but still a long way to go

was just wondering if anyone else here who suffers from depression or anxiety disorder could tell me do they have the same problems ?

Suffer depression and anorexia. Have trust issues and probably anxiety. I only have one friend and I couldn’t imagine dating anyone. That would be way too hard for me.

Question by joy_ride_158: Does anyone know where I can find on line videos that I can download about postpartum depression?
I am doing a research presentation on postpartum depression. I am looking for video clips that I can download of Andrea Yates, as well as other cases that have had mass media attention, or maybe just informational videos about ppd. Can anyone give me a site?
