The girl in question has not been dx’d with anything but depression and is taking Faverin (anti-depressant).
So, basically I’m wondering whether there are any medications that can induce/cause a manic episode.
Don’t worry, this question is definitely not for anything other then genuine curiosity.

Okay, so in theory she has been diagnosed with bipolar, then what could cause a manic episode?

Seems as if the hardest thing is convincing a person that has a mental/chemical disorder no matter how minor/severe, that they have a problem. It is part of the disease. If she doesn’t believe that there is anything wrong with her it will probably take some sort of circumstance to convince her.
You could try showing her the answers that you get from this question, maybe if she reads that others have been through similar things she will respond.
