I was in my abnormal behaviour class and I asked the professor if it is known whether a person experiences a manic phase or a depressive phase first on the onset of bipolar disorder (i.e. a person is about to produce their first symptoms of having the disorder.. do they experience mania or depression first?).
Any knowledge would be appreciated. Best answer would be an informative one with credible links for support.

After having an adrenal tumor that completely crushed one of my adrenal glands I find it hard to get up and go. For the most part I’m constantly relaxed and happy to sit and do nothing all day and every day, like i’m on some strange tranquillizer. I was wondering what would happen if you removed part of the adrenal gland from someone with manic depression. I did not have an illness like this but wondered if it would calm them down like it seems to have with me?

i heard that some bipolar disease have cycles that can last long times like 3-10 years… if that’s true, isn’t it possible that what you believe that is depression curing is just the manic phase of BPD?
it would genuinely suck if you think that finally hapiness have come but what you have is just another merry-go-round of BPD…
