Question by homophobiaisgay: What are the signs of manic depression?
I keep having high and then really low moments and then there are times when im really down and want to end everything but when this happens its not always after something bad has happened, it can just be an argument etc – am I showing signs of manic depression ?

Question by trisha_r_c: What are the signs of postpartum depression?
i already suffer from depression. is postpartum depression the same? are there different signs? is there a way to overcome it without medication? i’m afraid because i have 3 children, and their fathers are no where around (2 have the same father). my youngest is 3 weeks. i just don’t want to get frustrated and take it out on my 2 older kids.

Yeah it’s the same thing basically. Postpartum is just a name for AFTER you have a baby.

Signs:

Lack of energy
Fatigue
Changes in your life
Mood Swings
Irritable
Upset/ Never happy
Thinking negatively

My son is very hyper, obsessed with his imagination, and constantly talks about what he is going to do when I die. He is 5. I don’t think he has adhd but we do have manic depression is the family.

I have a close friend who suffered terribly following her previous child (I didn’t know her back then) and she is up and down at the best of times. She has just had a child with a new partner, and he is less than a day old so things sre still pretty crazy, but what should I look for? And how to distinguish signs from those of any worn out new mother? Interested to hear from those who have been there or had friends/family go through it.

is it possible not to know you have PPD and start to act out almost 2 years after giving birth?
