Question by Logan N Alora’s Mommy: How long after having a baby does postpartum depression usually set in?
I was on the way to a store tonight and heard a sappy song on the radio and just broke down crying. My daughter is almost 5 months old and I have been fine other than that. Could it be postpartum or are my hormones still out of whack? I still get teary eyed at certain commercials which I did during pregnancy.

Postpartum depression does not have a time limit. Speak to someone about it. Goodluck!

There is no blanket “miracle pill” that is going to work for everyone. Choosing a medication to control bipolar is a decision only you and your doctor can make. There are a WIDE variety of medications.
That said, a mood stabilizer is usually the first choice. Then, depending on the outcome, an antidepressant may or may not be added. Again, it depends on your body, and the choices you and your doctor make.
I included a link that lists and describes the types of medication.
